Lie 3 - The Blatant Lie
This one is not for newbies. It should only be attempted by expert liars, and only in a very controlled environment where you can be sure of not being challenged. A Radio 1 interview would be an ideal setting.
The technique here is to simply lie. Flat out lie. It's hard to believe that this could work, but in the right curcumstances it can work perfectly.
Politicians of course have been using this technique for years. It's no surprise therefore that the best recent example of the technique comes from failed politician Tom Parlon, the head of the Construction Industry Federation.
After years of going on record saying there is no bubble, houses are great value and there's never been a better time to buy,
Mr Parlon had the courage use The Blatant Lie method in a Radio One interview in January 2009 when he said that The Construction Industry saw the crash coming.
Mr Parlon earned bonus points for this lie by performing it a mere nine months after he had said in another Radio One interview that Our fundamentals are strong.
Let this man be an inspiration to all you budding liars. This is as good as it gets.
